Teddy Roosevelt understood that freedom meant everyone had the chance to build the American Dream for their families. Freedom is what brought our forefathers to this great land, inspired our ancestors to travel great distances in search of a better life, and fostered the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship that drive America's progress.

Our nation is a beacon of hope for so many of the world's people. Sadly we are facing a grave threat to our way of life. Today we live in a world where our enemies wage war against freedom in the form of terror. They wage it against America, the greatest bastion of freedom. On September 11th, 2001 we weren't attacked because of something we had done wrong, we were attacked because of what we do right, because of our belief in freedom.

Freedom is ultimately a simple principle, one that we sometimes take for granted. It is our solemn duty to protect and enhance our freedoms...
